Governance

The QHS Criteria for Excellence in Governance consists of a set of defining requirements and a best practice template against which a Registered Provider can rate itself. The resulting picture of the “Health of Governance” within the organisation will identify both the degree to which the organisation is already delivering best practice and identify areas where changed focus and development will improve Board and organisational governance.

The main objectives of the programme are:

  • To provide a tool for Boards to evaluate and develop themselves to meet their stakeholders needs
  • To award a sector specific Certificate to those organisations which have excellent Boards
  • To provide confidence to stakeholders in the governance of their business
  • To ensure that risk is minimised and Value for Money is maximised.
