Karen McArthur

Karen McArthur

Currently working in the field of Corporate Responsibility for Vodafone, Karen has worked on a number of key issues to enhance the reputation with stakeholders at all levels. She was one of the industry representatives involved in establishing Otelo, the telecommunications ombudsman and sat on the shadow board until 2002. She is continuing to develop a portfolio of non executive roles in the not for profit sector, including housing associations in London and the South East. Prior to joining Vodafone 9 years ago, Karen worked for 3 large housing associations and she retains an active interest in social housing and their performance. Karen is also a magistrate in west London.

Margaret May

Margaret May

Margaret May is a Chartered Management Accountant, with wide experience across both the private and public sectors, holding roles from Finance through to General Management, before moving into Consultancy, Training and writing books including FT Executive Briefings. She now focuses on a portfolio of Non-Executive roles with a number of public and not-for-profit organizations, including The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, The Housing Ombudsman Service, The Government Decontamination Service and the Standards Board for England.

Chris Almgill

Anne Parker

Director of Social Services for Berkshire County Council until 1994 and Honorary Secretary of the Association of Directors of Social Services from 1986-89, Anne was awarded the CBE for services to Social Services in 1990. She has a wide experience of the voluntary sector including serving as Chair of Carers UK and vice chair of the Centre for Policy on Ageing. Her experience in regulation and customer care includes chairing the National Care Standards Commission, establishing the first Independent Complaints handling service for the CSA and serving as Chair of the Audit Commission’s Complaints Panel. She currently serves as a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals Panel, as the Vice Chair of the Wirral Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and as a trustee of the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales. Her interest in housing began when she was a founder member of the Mind Thames Valley Housing Association in the 1970s, continued when she served as board member at Anchor Trust and she is currently a member of the Bridge Divisional Board of Riverside Housing Association.

Roger Phillips

Roger Phillips

Roger was Chief Executive and Group MD of a major North West Housing Association for over 20 years until he took early retirement in 2006 following a merger.
He is a Board member of a transfer HA, and the Chair of Stockport Homes which is one of the few 3 star ALMO's in the country.
Roger is particularly interested in promoting and enhancing customer involvement and the objectives of QHS across all housing providers

Terry Stacy

Cllr Terry Stacy

Terry has been a Councillor for over ten years, he is the Deputy Leader Islington Council, and the Housing Spokesperson for Liberal Democrat Council’s at London Councils the umbrella group of London local authorities.

A tenant most of his life, Terry was Chair of Old Ford Housing Association, and board member of the Circle Angila Group untill this month when he became Chair of Island Homes part of the One Housing Group. He is a Director of the Empty Homes Agency as well as a Tenant Inspection Adviser to the Audit Commission. He was recently appointed a Tenant Director of the Independent Housing Ombudsman Service.
